Construction Industry Arbitration Council (CIAC) was established jointly by Construction Industry Development Council (CIDC) and Singapore International Arbitration Centre (SIAC).

With a view to providing a focus on the emerging trends in International Arbitration, the CIAC under the patronage of CIDC will be organizing a “International Seminar on Institutional Arbitration & Online Dispute Resolution Techniques” from 14-15 December 2011 at New Delhi. The event is supported by UNCITRAL, AALCO & other International and National bodies.

Online Dispute Resolution is likely to present a convenient platform for a large number of SMEs and individuals to pursue their claims online and get a binding decision in accost efficient and less time consuming manner. it may assist in the Government‘s and the Judiciary’s mandate for speedy resolution of commercial disputes. This Conference aims to explore the embedded opportunities and threats for ODR in the Indian Economy.

Country representatives and delegates from Australia, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, The Philippines, New Zealand, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Vietnam, Mongolia including a large contingent from China, and a host of Indian Construction Industry stakeholders are expected to attend.  The participants mix includes Industry Captains, Arbitrators, Lawyers, Central/ State Government officers, Senior officers from the Private Sector etc.

This two days Seminar will deliberate on “Institutional Arbitration and online Dispute Resolution Techniques” and will also focus on best practices in this area and presentation of case studies on the conference topics.
